Procter Machine Safety Introduces New Anti-Tampering Allen Screws

26/02/2025

Procter Machine Safety is excited to announce an enhancement to our modular perimeter guarding systems. Starting in March 2025, we will transition from traditional hexagonal head screws to new anti-tampering Allen screws with button heads and hexagonal sockets. These screws have been meticulously designed to improve safety, ergonomics, and ease of maintenance for industrial environments.

Why the Change?
In collaboration with designers, installers, and maintenance teams, we recognised that even seemingly minor components like screws can play a critical role in ensuring workplace safety. The introduction of these new screws reflects our commitment to advancing machine safety through practical and innovative solutions.

Key Benefits of the New Anti-Tampering Allen Screws:

  • Enhanced Safety Compliance: The screws meet the Machinery Directive’s captive screw requirements and are compliant with EN ISO 14120 – 5.3.9 standards.
  • Improved Ergonomics: The button-head design minimizes interference with tools during assembly, ensuring easier fastening of panels to posts.
  • Controlled Access: The specialized hexagonal socket design requires a dedicated screwdriver bit, ensuring only authorized personnel can make adjustments.
  • Versatility: Compatible with 20 mm and 30 mm framed panels, these screws are suitable for all standard and variable-angle configurations.

What This Means for You
These screws not only simplify assembly but also enhance safety during maintenance interventions. By adopting this updated design, Procter Machine Safety customers can benefit from more robust and secure systems while ensuring compliance with industry standards.
